I just tapped the mic and it's definitely still on. I'm writing this post to thank you, the reader, for being a loyal subscriber to my zero-post journal here on Substack. In case your memory is failing you, in January 2020 I made a big deal about becoming a more active writer and somehow successfully coaxed you into caring enough to subscribe. Since then I've published absolutely nothing and feel strangely accomplished, because it's very on-brand with every other endeavor in my life. This is why, today, before publishing anything worth reading, I am changing the name of my journal from Eclectic Nonsense to Unfinished.
That being said, I do want you to know that I have four long-form posts currently in draft, further cementing the semantic definition of this journal's new name. These unfinished posts are big paper airplanes caught in the thermals of the Perfectionist Mountains in my mind and I don't know how to land them. Visibility is at less than 50 meters and there's no air traffic control. But don't worry, I'll find a way to <insert non-controversial synonym for "kamikaze" here> those posts onto the tarmac soon enough.
In the meantime, I'll leave you with three random conversational openings to sentences that are impossible to end in a sane way. I don't even dare you to try.
“I just wanna say that I'm not an Andrew Tate fan, but—”
“I know this is gonna sound incredibly racist, but—”
“I do believe in equal pay for equal work, but—”
Let that marinate until my next published post in May of 2027.

Yep, it's still on!! So glad to see you post; I love how you write. You should just give your password to someone else and tell them that if you don't post one of your long-form drafts by the end of September, they can post a random draft for you ;) "Unfinished" would never be truer.
